Security agents have captured 10 suspects connected to burglary of cows from the State ranch in Gomba Locale
Police representative Fred Enanga told a media preparation on Monday that capture was made by the Flying Crew Unit (FSU), in a joint effort with regional groups at Katonga Locale and Gomba Focal Police headquarters.
Something like five cows disappeared under dubious conditions on Walk 29 from the ranch, prompting examinations by security agents.
“A task team of FSU was dispatched from the Crime Intelligence Headquarters, which established that a one Robert Nyanzi, a cattle dealer from Lwekibira village, was buying stolen cows from the State farm,” Enanga said.
“His arrest led to the tracking down of five other cattle dealers, who were also arrested.”
The suspects are all dairy cattle vendors from different towns in the locale.
Moreover, four others, including a veterinary official, a steers seller, a laborer, and a homestead supervisor, were captured on Walk 5, further embroiling the contribution of insiders in the cows burglary racket.
“In unravelling the cattle theft racket, we discovered that the dealers conspired with workers at the state farm,” Enanga said.
He complimented the endeavors of the Flying Crew Unit groups and regional security in Gomba, reaffirming the police’s obligation to destroying criminal organizations associated with cows robbery.
